jeez. it's snowing again.

Yuck yuck yuck already.

I'm making it spring in my little work space. :-)  Too bad for those cold, fluffy white things falling from the sky.

Today's results: branches and blossoms!

I found a cute little branch outside my kitchen door, scanned it in, and made these adorable tags. The branches are leafing out in pretty shades of green and look at that! Pink blossoms are emerging! Woo Hoo!

Maybe if I hold them up to the window those white things will get the hint and disappear. :-)

let's start off the week on a colorful note

We enjoyed such a beautiful weekend here in Eastern Pennsylvania. Blue skies and sunshine and balmy upper-40 degree temperatures! I swear the birds were extra chirpy yesterday. That's because they know it's coming (spring!) and they are getting excited. Maybe I should go outside and chirp too! Now if all the snow would just melt maybe we could get down to business!

I made a big batch of flowers this weekend and I am calling them 'Fairy Flowers' because they are dusted with glitter and they are so cute and cheerful. They make me smile!

 
If I could, I would give them the fruity fragrance of primrose flowers. mmmmmmmm.

I'm thinking warm thoughts

As I type this it is snowing like crazy outside my window. I am tired of snow, so I am thinking warm thoughts.... hyacinths and tulips blooming, furry little bunnies, birds singing, fat bumble bees buzzing around, lots of fresh green things sprouting up all over the place. Soon.

So, I have a few new **spring** things in my store to help me get over the winter blahs. Things like bizzy bees......

... and bunny stamps and tags...

...and some Easter flash cards with fun words like jellybean and Peter Cottontail...

I feel a bit warmer. :-)  But it's still snowing, so I better get back to work making more spring things!

25 years

My mom and step dad will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary tomorrow, February 15th. All of us kids got together and planned a family night in honor of their special day and we held it last night at my parent's house.

I didn't get many pictures because we were busy with food preparation (thanks again, Kim and Leann, for all your help with the food!) and then I got to talking with everyone and my camera sat.

I want to show you a decoration I made after being inspired on Rhonna's blog. I used red paper and punched the edge with a Fiskars punch to create the lollie shape. I added white paper doilies and some accents from Marks Paper Company's Valentine Kit to both sides. I folded Heidi Swapp flowers and put them behind the butterfly wings. I hung the decoration from the light above the table using fishing line....

I have to laugh at my brother, Doug. I asked him to turn it so it would be facing me and then he gave me one of his 'Doug looks' underneath....

 
The room looked so pretty with all the balloons and streamers. And the balloons gave all the kids something to play with!

...Going back to Marks Paper Company for a moment, I have to give a shout out to my super talented BFF Stacy, who, as of a few days ago, is now a Two Peas Digital Designer!!!!!!! Way to go Stace! So proud of you!!! :-)

that was some snow

Todd was out plowing all night and when he got home this morning he still had to plow open our driveway before he could get to the house. It took him over 45 minutes to get to the top of the hill.

That's my man. Love him. :-)

snooooooow daaaaaaay

 
Wow. It is coming down! I keep sweeping off the side porch so I can get the door open to let the dog out. Every time I go out I am amazed at how much has piled up again.

It's a *jammie day* and the kids have been playing with Legos...

...baking with the Easy Bake oven..... 

...working on Valentines for their classmates.....

 ... and watching TV. Scooby Doo. Tom and Jerry. Spongebob. Sarah also made two bracelets and I helped her make a pair of earrings. Benny and I are bidding on a Lego item on Ebay for his birthday (which, unbelievably, is in three short weeks). Lots of texting and phone calling for me. Todd is out plowing.

I hope everyone in the Mid Atlantic states is warm and safe during the blizzard. Enjoy the family time together! I just saw on our school website that school is cancelled tomorrow, too. That means the kids are off until next Tuesday. :-)

•Cute Easter goodies for my store. Here is a sneak peek of a few of the items.....

•Not sure exactly where this is headed, but today I am illustrating some long-legged cuties that are anxious for spring. (Give me some warm rain showers... no more snow) They will be for my store eventually. :-) .....

***edited to add next photo*** oooooooo I played around with my birds in Illustrator and added some colors and I am loving the direction they are taking!!!  :-)

 
•Putting together an album for my Poppop (he doesn't have internet so I'm not worried about spoiling the surprise). He turned 80 on December 24th and I took a ton of pictures. I told him I'd put together an album of his party. Here is the front of the album......

The day of the party I knew exactly what I wanted to do on the front of the album. I decorated a little Christmas tree with a bunch of red and green paper 80's that I made using the QuicKutz Silhouette. Poppop took a green one and hung it from his pocket. *lightbulb*  I had a 5 x 7 print made of him as we sang Happy Birthday to him and I hung a green 80 from his pocket on the front of the album. If you look close you can see the 80 he is wearing in the photo....
