These cute little owls, that's whooooooooo!

New Feathered Friends......

I made a small flock of six whimsical owls and you can find them here in my store. Notice the recycled item??????? Yup, I love corrugated cardboard and their glittered wings are made from a recycled egg carton.  reuse recycle create  :-)

Also new, It's a Date calendar journaling tags.....

The colors coordinate with quite a few patterned paper lines (like my fave, Basic Grey). These are a great staple for your scrapping stash. Find them here.

for Haiti

The kids and teachers at Sarah and Ben's school are having crazy socks and tie day today. They can donate one dollar to wear a crazy tie or a pair of crazy socks. All the proceeds benefit the Red Cross for Haiti.

They had their socks picked out last night already and Sarah is wearing one of Ben's clip-on ties.

just..... random

The boy....

...has been home from school for a few days. He's been having a mild health issue, nothing major, but he has been so out of sorts. Like the weight of the world is on his little shoulders. I hate when my kids are out of sorts because it makes me out of sorts too, worrying about them.

He has been occupying himself with Legos and Transformers....

While another of my children, my furry brown child, has been hanging out in the living room with Ben...

She likes to find squishy, confined spaces to take her naps.

Since I had the camera in hand I just took a few random shots around the house. Remember the orchid from earlier this month? Look at it now -

Uh huh. Gor-gee-us!

More randomness... When I walk down the hall this is what I see. The kid's room is at the end of the hall and Sarah has a collection of Geico ads taped above her bed. I aways feel like somebody's watching me.

One more. The current artwork gracing the refrigerator. But I took it looking in the mirror on the opposite side of the room...

(My attempt at getting a bit more of myself in pictures this year.)  Lots of Batman. Love it. :-)

everyone should have one

I made five one-of-a-kind creative guardian angels and they'll be going into my store as soon as I am able to get good photographs. (That's not likely today with the expected one to two inches of rain. Good thing I live on top of a big hill or I might have to break out the oars soon. Wow.)

They are a part of my reuse. recycle. create. line and are made with pieces of magazine pages and paint chips. Each angel is unique and her face is illustrated by me. She has a recycled magazine paper dress adorned with a coordinating trim. Soft, white feather wings are a must if you're an angel. She holds a flower and wears sparkly vintage glitter shoes. She hangs by a wire hanger that is playfully filled with beads and baubles and encouraging words. Her colorful background is also a pretty, recycled magazine picture.

Her purpose is to nudge you when you need nudging. When that occasional creative mental block happens she will inspire creative thoughts and guide you into action. Everyone should have one. :-)

eye candy on a gloomy day + my sweeties

Double duty post today....

It is dark and yucky outside and I feel like climbing back in bed. But instead, I ran to Dunkin Donuts for a yummy cup of coffee and I'm getting my daily fix of all the blogs and sites that I love to visit before I start work for the day. My own little bit of sunshine. :-)

Now, on to my sweeties. I realized that we are halfway through January and I have not taken any recent pictures of my kids. After the pre-required amount of whining and "Moooom"-ing, they cooperated, although they had to throw in the silly poses. Just because.

 
The temperature has been above freezing and the ice finally melted off the driveway so Sarah wanted to try out her new bike...

She fits much better on this one. Her knees were bumping into the handlebars on her old bike. These darn growing kids! lol 

Ben just stood along the side. Being Ben.

I added a few new items to my store this afternoon....

Old Fashioned Be My Valentine Scalloped Tags....

(they coordinate perfectly with my Old Fashioned Be My Valentine Stamps) 

Four new sets of reuse.recycle.create. envelopes.... each set is different and you can see them all here.

I also designed a new set of journaling tags. I call them 'Text Me' Journaling Tags because they are created using old book pages. I handmade the original tags and then scanned them in. You would get a printed set. They are very fun and whimsical and 'artsy', as I like to call them. Check them out here....
