the second 'one'

Little Miss Aubrie has now turned one! Her birthday was Thursday the 12th, and the party was Saturday. She was wearing my favorite color....

 

She wasn't too thrilled with the cake part....

Aubrie's mommy, my sister in law, Leann, will celebrate a milestone birthday later this week so we had a cake for her too....

 

I made Aubrie an album similar to Lily's album....

 

 

 

(see - my boxes and boxes of photos come in handy! LOL! I don't think the two albums I made for the girls even put a dent in my picture pile!)

treasure

A little over a week ago, Todd, the kids and I had dinner at Grandma's house. After dessert we sat around the table talking and Grandma mentioned to me that there was a bag of odds and ends craft supplies in a bag in her basement if Iwas interested. She said to take it and keep what I wanted and toss the rest.

Okay.

I went downstairs and found the bag, brought it up and started to peek through what was inside. Assorted Styrofoam balls. Googly eyes. Pom poms. A whole bag of tiny safety pins. And then I spotted this little can. A treasure. Made the whole thing worthwhile. For this week's Oh wow!, Wednesday, I'll show you what was hidden in with the odds and ends....

 

 

It's an old can of glitter!

Now - my question to you is, does anyone know anything about the possibility of lead? (The can itself is heavy cardboard, just the top and bottom rims are metal.) I tried doing all sorts of searches online and came up with nothing. It's so beautiful and I'd love to use it, but until I'm sure it's safe to use, I just have it stored away. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. :-)

seven!

 

My little man turned seven yesterday. Holy where did the time go, Batman!

The dining room was transformed into the batcave for the event.....

 

I even had the bat signal on the ceiling to let Batman know he was needed here. And do you know what? He showed up. Along with Catwoman and the Riddler (Riddle me this - can you figure out who the Riddler is?????)....

 

Ben had a party for his school friends on Sunday afternoon and his family party last night. I only managed a few pictures because I was busy being the hostess with the mostess....

Holy atomic pile of Legos, Batman! If I thought there were Legos all over the living room floor before, I was sadly mistaken. Ben got quite a few new sets, which basically means a few thousand more Legos on the living room floor! Can't wait to see what my seven year old boy creates with them. :-)
