conversation #1
Sarah: Mom, some kids at school are saying that there is no Santa Claus.... that the parents do it.
Me: Well, I believe in Santa, and I'm 40 years old.
Sarah: I think they think they're just too big to believe in Santa 'cause little kids believe in him and they want to be more grown up. Besides, there has to be a Santa because the parents can't afford to buy all that stuff.
(she still does believe)
conversation #2
Ben: Mom, are there hungry people in Africa?
Me: Yes, in some parts of Africa they are starving, but in other parts they have food.
Ben: I want to ship a bucket of rice over there for the hungry people.
( I asked him why he was wondering about this and he said I mentioned it a long time ago and he's been thinking about it.)
From the mouths of babes.
:-)
It's scary how much they think, isn't it? Angus came up with a doozie the other night!..."are you my real mother?".....what the??????
