To all of my students from Valley Forge - thank you! I love to hear that you get inspired by my work. That means a lot to me!
I was approached in the hallway by one of my students and she opened her bag to show me she had a bunch of cardboard stuffed in there to use at home. Then, another student came up to me with empty ribbon spools and asked what I would do with them. I had an idea, so she gave them to me (I'll post pictures when I bring my idea to life). That's what I love - to see you looking at things in a different perspective. I'll be expecting e-mails with pictures showing me your creations! I like to get fun mail!!!!
There were definately good and bad moments at the convention.....
Bad being that the power in the hotel went out for almost 10 hours due to severe thunderstorms. I woke up in the middle of the night and - gasp! - no power! That's a scary feeling being somewhere you're unfamiliar with, on the sixth floor, pitch black, no air conditioning when it's unbelievably hot and humid out, no water for toilets and showers. But, we persevered. Amy and I taught our classes all stinky. The other girls with us ran the vendor booth all stinky. The only consolation was a lot of others were in the same boat.
Good was that we got a lot of great feedback from our classes. It was fun to spend time with Amy, Aunt Sue, Jill, Melissa, CJ, and Nancy. I got to breifly visit the Plymouth Meeting and King of Prussia Malls (I've never been to either. And there's a Pottery Barn Kids in the King of Prussia Mall. {drool} ). I got to see my friend Stacy (it's been a year since I saw her last). I saw some people that I met last year (hi Chris C. !). And, we did pretty darn well in our booth.
Now things can get back to normal. -------deep breath-----sigh. :-)
