I saw a site that really interested me several days ago when I was click click clicking through the blogs that I read and I'll be darned if I can find it again. The gist of it was looking for art in things you see every day. The one image was a self portrait of a woman. She held the camera above her other hand which was holding a star shaped cookie cutter and when you looked through the star, her painted toe nails were the focal point of the picture. Really neat. And so simple if you think about it.
One thing I constantly strive to do is improve my photography skills. I've got a long way to go, but I'm pretty happy with the results I get now, versus even a year ago. I really try to look at things from a different perspective. With an artist's mind. This morning I was washing the dishes from Sarah's party last night and I observed this...
{the sun was coming in the window and sparkling through the glass plate that I just leaned in the strainer to dry...behind the plate was a basket with pears and bananas in it and I saw a picture in my mind. I took this:}
I think it's pretty cool. A simple dish in a strainer. Observe everyday art. :-)
