Capture the Details

enjoying summer

It's nice to not have a schedule... the days are free to do anything. Or nothing. Nice.

Today we ran to a local nursery that carries pond supplies. Ben loves ponds (and frogs, of course!). We were able to spot a few frogs in their display ponds. They have such a pretty setting with bridges and waterfalls.

On the way home we stopped at a creek down the road from our house to look for anything that might be interesting. The kids threw twigs and leaves into the creek on one side of the bridge and we watched them come out the other side. I took a couple of pictures with my cell phone camera...

 
Last night Todd and I took the kids to a Phillies game. W - O - W ! It was the kid's and my first time to a Phillies game and it was ah-may-zing! Over 45,000 people in the audience. And almost all of them wearing Phillies attire! Including us...

 
 
We got there early and watched the Phillies having batting practice. Every once in a while a ball would come back into the seats where people stood hoping to get lucky and catch one.

We sat behind left field, right behind Raul Ibanez, if you are a Phillies fan. The kids and I were star struck. We watch the Phillies every night on TV and to see them in person was really neat! We will be going to another game in August and we are all excited about it! :-)

ice cream cone tags

Several people commented after I made my cupcake tags that I should do ice cream, too. So, I am happy to report that I had those in mind to begin with and I love how they turned out!

I illustrated the cone, did some computer magic and then printed them out onto cardstock to make some sweeeeeeeet ice cream cones.

This one reminds me of black cherry ice cream...

summer in full swing

The days are flying by - summer is here! We took the kids and the dog to the river for some fun splash time. Sophie made the most splashes. :-)

I love this shot - you can see the water droplets flying in arcs from her tail wagging...

 
She barked and barked and barked for Todd to throw her bumper out into the river. Out he threw it, out she swam, then - chomp...

 
...back she came for more.....

 
Todd had to have his hand in her face for her to stay. She just wanted to run back in the river!....

 
While Todd and Sophie were busy with the bumper retrievals, Sarah and Ben walked along the edge looking for treasures.....

 

 
 
They didn't find much, but they enjoyed the trip and I enjoyed watching them......

I had an idea and sketched it out on a scrap of paper....
