I have been super busy with creative projects. There are creative messes on my art table, computer desk, across my bed (when I am not sleeping in it!) and on a card table set up in the living room.
I am doing more projects for STYROFOAM and they are due this week. They are going to be videoing segments for You-tube and need not only the completed projects but step-outs as well. So I have to do several of each project at various stages of completion through finished. I am working with lots of buttons and paper and ribbons and enjoying every minute of it! :-)
On a side note, I am so happy that a bunch of my previous STYROFOAM projects got picked up for publication next Spring. Can't wait! I've never been published before so it is super exciting! :-) Once things are published I can share.
I am designing a custom invitation for someone and I'll share that as well, when I can. (ooooo, the suspense!).
I've been doing art work for my church... ads and flyers, etc.
I made a cute gift for my sister in law. I was inspired by a project in the latest edition of Quilting Arts magazine. That I can share... yea!!!!!
It's an adorable pin cushion made from a recycled button tin and felt (she does a lot of sewing)...
I covered the side edge of the tin with a measuring tape ribbon. The bottom and lid are covered with brown wool felt.
The top has leaves that I stitched, adding some details, and the flower is simply rolled strips of felt.
Of course it is filled with pretty push pins....
And now, dear friends, I must head back out to my living room card table to do more work on the STYROFOAM projects. Have a great day! :-)
That's him. (Pardon the dusty mirror. We need rain. Or I need to wash the car, which ever comes first. I'm betting on the rain.)
Sarah is off helping her Tante Kimmy do some canning.... peaches, salsa, etc. The little man is here with Todd and me.
I love him.
I love his freckles.
I love how he loves toads and frogs and makes special habitats for them in five gallon buckets.
I love how he spent 15 minutes explaining how we could rearrange the stuff on the dining room furniture so he could fit a leopard frog habitat in that room. (We already have two fire belly toads and an African dwarf frog in there.) He had his amphibian books laid out as a reference for what we would need. He was very thorough. He really wants a pet leopard frog. :-)
I love his smirky smile.
I love that he was willing to take pictures of us today.
I love that he took my camera and played around and took pictures of me.
I am the luckiest momma in the world. I have my little man, Ben. :-)
Summer vacation flew by! Now it's back to school again. First day was today!
Sarah is in sixth grade and Ben is in third grade. Their elementary school goes up to the sixth grade which means Sarah is one of the 'big dogs'. She was very excited to go this year. Ben, on the other hand, wanted summer vacation to last a few more months. :-)
Away they go!
Ben's buddy saved a seat for Ben and when the new, little kids were getting seated and the bus was waiting I saw this...
Ben already had his new Michael Jackson folder out to show his buddy. :-)
Sarah's best friend is at the first bus stop and she saved the very back seat for Sarah. Like I said, the big dogs! I got a huge grin and an over the shoulder wave as the bus went around the corner. See her hand there?...
In the afternoon my little man had his smug smirk plastered on his face....
...while Sarah had the oh great, mom has her camera look on her face...
