I must confess. I have another addiction (in addition to scrapbooking). It is flowers and gardening.
My first job in high school was working for my Uncle Jim at Hickory Grove Greenhouses. I worked there on my college breaks and for eight years after I graduated from college. All total I spent thirteen years of my life working there. I also grew up right down the street and spent my whole youth playing there while my parents helped out during the busy seasons. My grandparents lived on the property. The greenhouse business is sort of in my blood.
Now that my kids are older and more self sufficient and I can do stuff in the yard without having to be right on top of them, I find myself revisiting that addiction.... and today I stopped by to see what they've been getting in since spring is the busiest season of the year for the greenhouses. Holy shmoly. BEAUTIFUL beyond description. All kinds of patio planters and hanging baskets that you would not believe how big they are, and exotic tropical plants, all sorts of herbs and vegetables and annuals and perennials. Holy shmoly. Did I say that?
I regretted the fact that I didn't have my camera along to share pictures. BUT, if you are local to the Allentown area and you are at all interested in gardening, you could go there and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed. I have a link to their web site above so you can get directions. It will be worth the trip!
:-)

It is a small word, my parents lived down the street a bit and we did all of our flower shopping there!

Okay Master Gardener... when you are done at your house I will be in need of a green thumb here! Take some pictures of all your beautiful things and post them when you get a chance!
